I came across this impressive arrangement of bolts for a column to beam connection in an indoor swimming pool. I liked that the engineer went to the trouble of designing a circular bolting arrangement for this glulam timber frame. It is more aesthetically pleasing but was more difficult to design. Its nice to see in these difficult times when fees are being squeezed that engineers are still taking the time to design distinctive details. Continue reading →
